Register your military-connected child for a summer day camp

Submitted by Kali Summers

Kansas: Operation Military Kids program is hosting a summer day camp in Riley County for military-connected youth, ages 7-12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 23. Lunch and snacks will be provided.

The camp is a program of K-State's Institute for the Health and Security of Military Families in the School of Family Studies and Human Services. Military-connected is any child whose parent is active duty in the National Guard, Army Reserve, Air Guard or any other branch of the military.

There is no fee to attend, but participants should preregister before Tuesday, June 16, by emailing Julie Riniker, jriniker@k-state.edu. The email should include the date and county of the day camp — June 23 in Riley County — and the child's name and age. A confirmation of registration email will be sent back along with a participation form that must be completed and returned prior to the day of camp.

Sign your child up to spend the day making new friends, learning new things and most of all having a ton of fun.

Contact Ann Domsch at adomsch@k-state.edu for more information. The day camp is sponsored by Kansas Operation Military Kids and Riley County 4-H.
