Information session on National Science Foundation CAREER Program
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs will host a National Science Foundation Faculty Early Career program information session at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 12. The session location will be provided with your registration confirmation.
This NSF program offers one of the agency's most prestigious awards in support of junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through outstanding research, excellent education and the integration of education and research within the context of the mission of their organizations.
To be eligible to apply, you must be in a tenure-track position as an assistant professor, or equivalent title, and be untenured until the Oct. 1 following the deadline.
The information session will include an overview of the program, as well as potential changes to it, by ZJ Pei from K-State's industrial and manufacturing systems engineering department. He is currently serving his third year as an National Science Foundation program director in Washington, D.C. Pei's presentation will be followed by a panel of K-State CAREER awardees who will discuss their award and how it has affected their career. They also will provide insights for developing a CAREER submission.
