K-State Mortar Board hosts annual Reading is Power event for children of all ages

Submitted by Chris Brown

Join K-State's Mortar Board Senior Honorary in celebrating the ability to read from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, in  the Leadership Studies Building. Kids of all ages are encouraged to come to the free event dressed in their favorite superhero costume.

The afternoon will include the chance to read with K-State athletes, Willie the Wildcat, make a lava lamp, create a detective case file, go on a scavenger hunt, along with many other reading activities and multiple superhero-themed crafts for all ages.

One in four children in America grow up without learning how to read. Help us in our effort to stress the importance of having the ability to read!

Contact Beth Reichenberger with any questions at 913-744-1539 or reicheli@k-state.edu.
