Submitted by Colby Teeman

Research participants are needed for the study "The interaction of physical activity and diet: postprandial triglyceride and inflammatory responses following a high-fat meal" in the human nutrition department.

Participants for this study must have less than 30 minutes of planned exercise per week.

Benefits for participants include $25, body composition and bone density assessments, blood pressure measurement, blood lipid profile and an aerobic fitness test. Participants also will receive two free meals for completion of the study.

Participants will come into our lab on the third floor of the Lafene Health Center on two different occasions. The first appointment will take about one hour and 15 minutes and will include a blood pressure measurements, basic anthropometric measurements, body composition, pulmonary function test and VO2 max test. The second appointment will take about five hours to complete. Weekend times are available to complete the second session. This appointment will include airway inflammation measurements of sputum and exhaled nitric oxide, blood lipid profile and resting metabolic rate measurements.
