Greek Serenades set for Aug. 23

Submitted by Ben Hopper

K-State fraternity members will be serenading the women of organized living entities at the annual K-State Greek Serenades on Saturday, Aug. 23.

Due to some academic departments hosting orientations on Sunday, the Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council moved this event to 1 p.m. Saturday. Traditionally, it was at 1 p.m. Sunday, the day before classes start.

Serenades provide the men of the Greek community the opportunity to bond with each other by creating, rehearsing and performing a song and dance to the women of the Greek community and organized living houses. This year, we welcome Alpha of Clovia and Smurthwaite Scholarship House to this Greek tradition.

In addition to providing an icebreaker opportunity prior to the beginning of school, serenades allows new members to become oriented with the location of other Greek-letter and housing organizations. Serenades is an entertaining event for K-State women and is a tradition that students look forward to year after year.
