Furnas and Redding promoted at K-State Alumni Association
The K-State Alumni Association recently announced the promotion of two staff members. Dawn Furnas, assistant editor and designer of the K-Stater magazine, was promoted to associate director of communications, and Tamie Redding, programs assistant, was promoted to programs coordinator.
Furnas, who began her career with the association in 2011, will continue to design the K-Stater magazine and will assume additional responsibilities for coordinating projects and special assignments within the communications department. She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Pennsylvania State University. Prior to joining the association, Furnas held communications positions as copy editor, layout editor and page designer with various organizations, including the The Roanoke, Va., Times daily newspaper, Virginia Tech Student Programs and the Tallahassee, Fla., Democrat daily newspaper.
Redding, who began her career with the association in 2006, supports the association’s student programming, Alumni Fellows program and alumni club events and will assume additional responsibilities in coordinating student and volunteer programs as well as serving as a liaison with campus administrators. Redding earned a bachelor’s degree in interior design from K-State. Prior to joining the association, she worked at K-State’s animal sciences and industry department in the College of Agriculture where she held administrative positions for 15 years. Redding is also a member of the Randolph City Council.
