Two honored with honorary membership in Alpha Omega Epsilon

Submitted by Mary Rankin

Bette Grauer, assistant dean for retention, diversity and inclusion, and Jennifer Thornburg, retention coordinator, both from the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering, were awarded honorary membership in Alpha Omega Epsilon by the Beta Tau Chapter of Alpha Omega Epsilon sorority during its Women's Day celebration, April 13.

Grauer and Thornburg were recognized for their work in support of women in engineering at Kansas State University. Alpha Omega Epsilon is a sorority for women in engineering and technical sciences and is a member of the Kansas State Panhellenic Council.

President and vice president of Alpha Omega Epsilon are Kansas State University engineering students Hayley Leonard and Silvana Alcantara, respectively. The sorority was recently named as the Best New Sorority at K-State and received a Rookie on Target award from the national organization.
