Submit proposals to K-State Undergraduate Research Conference

Submitted by Tanya Gonzalez

The Office of Undergraduate Research & Creative Inquiry, in partnership with the Primary Texts Certificate Program, the Developing Scholars Program and Kansas State University Libraries, invites you to submit a paper or panel proposal to the inaugural Undergraduate Research Conference.

The conference will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 14, at K-State's Student Union and K-State Alumni Center Ballroom.

Proposals are being accepted for 15-minute panel presentations, full panel proposals of up to four participants, and poster presentations — from Developing Scholars Program participants only. Proposals are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 1, to ourci@k-state.edu

Presentations may cover any topic from any disciplinary foundations. We welcome research, scholarship and creative activity from any undergraduate student currently enrolled at Kansas State University, at any of its various campuses. Student proposals will be reviewed by a panel of undergraduate students.

In addition to this general call, the K-State Primary Texts Certificate Program seeks participants to fill sessions at the K-State Undergraduate Research Conference. Papers should either be centered around the authors analysis of a primary text — or texts — or should be an original piece in which the author creates a primary text. Participants should be either primary texts certificate students or authors of content submitted to Live Ideas: Undergraduate Primary Texts Journal.

To submit a single paper proposal, interested students should send a document including the title of the presentation, presenter name, major, research mentor — if applicable — and a 250 word proposal to ourci@k-state.edu with the subject line, Undergraduate Research Conference Proposal.

To submit a full panel proposal, interested students should send a document including the title of the panel, a 150-word description of the panel, and the following for each presenter included in the panel: the title of the presentation, presenter name, major, research mentor  — if applicable — and a 250 word proposal. Panel proposals should be sent to ourci@k-state.edu with the subject line, Undergraduate Research Conference Panel Proposal.

To submit a paper proposal for one of the Primary Texts Certificate Sessions interested students should send a document including the title of the presentation, presenter name, major, research mentor  — if applicable — and a 250 word proposal to ourci@k-state.edu with the subject line, Primary Texts Certificate Session Proposal.
