Submitted by Mary Rankin

Larry Erickson, emeritus professor of chemical engineering

Larry Erickson, Kansas State University emeritus professor of chemical engineering, will be presented with the Climate and Energy Project 2018 Impact Award at the organization's annual celebration and awards ceremony Monday, Dec. 10 in Lawrence.

The Impact Award is given for lifetime achievement and recognizes an individual whose work has resulted in positive, long-term, broad impacts in climate, energy and environmental issues across the state.

Erickson was cited for organizing the annual Dialog on Sustainability event, which has connected hundreds of students, professionals and advocates in conversations on tough environmental topics; his consistent and steady support of electric vehicles and solar charging stations, which has had a lasting impact across the state; and his work as a collaborating partner through the Kansas Natural Resource Council.
