Hale Library maintenance projects during winter break

Submitted by Donna Ekart

During the low-traffic time between fall and spring semesters, Hale Library will undertake several maintenance projects. The majority of the activity will be concentrated on Hale's third floor beginning Monday, Dec. 19.

  • Third floor will have carpet replaced and building expansion joints repaired. While this work is going on, some collections, primarily maps and microforms may be temporarily inaccessible, and the entire floor will be unsuitable for research and study.
  • The Great Room will be closed for plaster repair work.
  • The Juvenile Literature and Curriculum Materials collections currently housed on the third floor will be shifted to their new location on fourth floor.

Please contact Library Help on Hale's second floor for assistance locating or accessing materials affected by these projects. The work is anticipated to last throughout winter break and be completed in time for the start of spring semester.
