Aistrup named new interim dean for College of Arts and Sciences

Joe Aistrup, professor of political science, is the College of Arts and Science's new interim dean.
Aistrup succeeds Brian Spooner, university distinguished professor of biology and director of Kansas State University's Division of Biology, who served as interim dean of the college since May 2009.
Aistrup previously served as interim associate dean of the college. He will serve as interim dean until Jan. 1, 2012, when Peter Dorhout will join the college as dean.
Aistrup specializes in Kansas politics, public policy and methodology. He's made numerous presentations and his publications include two books. He joined K-State in 2002.
He earned a bachelor's degree from Fort Hays State University, a master's degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a doctorate from Indiana University.
