TLC Bi-Weekly Newsletter for Tuesday, October 25th, 2022

Greetings, K-Staters!

We are now in the tenth week of the Fall 2022 semester, and the Teaching & Learning Center (TLC) would like to remind you of our commitment to support your efforts in teaching, mentoring, and advising. We are excited to announce the various priorities, events, and resources that are designed to advance teaching and learning at K-State. This video explains what the TLC can do for you.

TLC Highlighted Teacher

Pradeep quote graphic

Our highlighted teacher this week is Pradeep Malreddy. Pradeep’s teaching philosophy is as follows: “Teaching is my main professional interest and my passion. I have been a student in both teacher-centered and student-centered institutions. In all of my education as a veterinary student, I was passively acquiring the knowledge in the classroom. The teacher or the “sage on the stage” was the keeper and giver of the knowledge. And the assessment of my learning of such knowledge was measured through an objective exam at the end of the semester. On the other hand, as a graduate student, I was more actively involved in the learning process. It was more of a collaborative process not only amongst fellow students but also between the students and the teacher. The teacher was the facilitator, and the assessment of my learning was measured throughout the learning process via group projects, discussions, class participations, etc. These experiences have helped evolve my teaching philosophy, which revolves around the following three principles: 1) make learning interesting, 2) make learning fun, and 3) make learning relevant.”
