Ice Scholars - Carl R. Ice College of Engineering

Ice Scholars are a prestigious group of incoming high school students who have been truly outstanding, both academically and as student leaders, during their high school career. Students recognized as Ice Scholars will receive the largest scholarship award made by Kansas State University’s Carl R. Ice College of Engineering.

  • This scholarship is awarded each year and is in addition to any other support a student would receive from the university in the form of general university scholarships/awards.
  • Recipients will not be eligible to receive additional renewable general scholarships from the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering.

This award seeks to attract top students who demonstrate the potential to make exceptionally strong contributions to K-State engineering, both in the classroom and in their extracurricular involvement on campus.

Finalists, who will be selected by a committee of college faculty and staff, are required to participate in an on-campus interview. The interview and recognition event will include a luncheon and other special activities. Parents and family members are encouraged to attend.
