Emergency Student Aid

Resources for Students with a Financial Emergency

Occasionally, students will encounter unexpected, temporary financial obstacles resulting from an emergency or crisis situation. These situations may obstruct the student's ability to complete course requirements and hinder academic progress.

Students, faculty, or staff are invited to alert us of a financial emergency by completing and submitting the emergency aid application below. This application is a combined effort between the Office of Student Financial Assistance and K-State Proud. The application will apply to both committees for aid through one consolidated form. It is our unified goal to help mitigate unforeseen emergency financial circumstances. Emergency aid may come in the form of loans, scholarships, or grants depending on each specific situation.

While each committee has different requirements for consideration, submissions may be considered by both the Office of Student Financial Assistance and K-State Proud.

The eligibility requirements for the Emergency Referral are as follows:

  • The student has exhausted all available student loans, scholarships, grants, and/or work opportunities.
  • The student’s emergency financial situation is temporary.
  • The student is currently enrolled in a degree seeking program.
  • The student is meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress.
  • The student has completed the FAFSA for the current academic year unless they are ineligible to complete the FAFSA.

Eligibility requirements for the K-State Proud application are as follows:

  • The student’s emergency financial situation is temporary.
  • Other sources of gift aid are unavailable.
  • The student is currently enrolled in a degree seeking program.
