Next Steps
Accept your aid!
- Visit our Accepting aid and awards webpage for a step-by-step guide to accepting your financial aid.
First time accepting Student Financial Aid loans?
- All students must complete the Master Promissory Note and Loan Entrance Counseling the first time they receive a Federal Loan. We will provide the instructions as a reminder on your to do list within KSIS. You will need to go to https://studentaid.gov to complete both and it usually takes 10-15 minutes to complete each task.
Considering the Parent PLUS loan.
- The estimated Parent PLUS on your account is the maximum amount a parent can apply for while remaining within Cost of Attendance. This loan will need to be applied for through studentaid.gov by the parent. This will be based on their credit, and you will know if you are approved or not by the end of the application. If approved, we will put the requested amount on as the Direct Parent PLUS a few days after the application was completed.
Using Veteran Benefits?
- You will need to complete additional forms through the Office of Veteran Affairs.
Do you have private scholarships outside of K-State?
- We have a form called the Private Scholarships Form to inform our office of the private scholarships that you are receiving. You can find the form under General Forms and Applications for the academic year that you are looking for.
Additional Scholarship Options?
- Our office provides 5 scholarship search engines to provide a safe location for students to apply for additional scholarship.
If our office needs additional information to process your financial aid, we will put the requested information on your to do list. If you do not have any items on your to do list, then your aid will be applied towards your account 7-10 days before the start of classes.
Please continue to monitor your to do list within KSIS.
