Launch Awards
Launch Awards aim to catalyze new research directions by providing seed funding for early-stage projects that will generate preliminary data for competitive external grant submissions.
Program Design
- A collaborative partnership between the OVPR and the One K-State fund, administered by the Office of the President.
- Ten awards of $25,000 each per year; $250,000 total.
- Five awards from proposals submitted by the October 1 deadline and five awards from proposals submitted by the March 1 deadline.
- Any uncommitted funds will roll over to the next RFP cycle, increasing the number of awards available in that cycle.
- Open to faculty opening a new research direction or seeking preliminary data.
- Researchers with active start-up funding must provide justification for why these funds are unavailable to support the proposed line of inquiry.
