Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act

As part of the reauthorization of the Higher Education Act, the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act (DFSCA) was passed in 1989.

All institutions of higher education receiving any form of federal funding must comply with The Drug-Free Schools and Campuses Regulations Act (EDGAR Part 86). This act outlines several requirements, including the production of a biennial review as well as an annual notification to students and employees.

To comply with the regulations and implement any necessary changes, every two years K-State must conduct a review of its AOD programs to determine the effectiveness and the consistency of sanction enforcement.

The 2023 Biennial Review is available for download and review here.
