Careers & Internships
Whether plans after graduation involve pursuing a career or higher education, our department prepares students for success in the post-graduate world. Through career advising, inviting field experts to speak about their experiences, and connecting students to valuable internships - we show our majors the many paths a degree earned from our department can take them.
An undergraduate degree in political science prepares students for careers in both the public and private sector, as well as a number of advanced graduate degrees including in law, foreign service/security, public administration, and doctoral studies, among others.
Though even before completing their degree, students have the opportunity at a first-hand experience of what it's like to have a career in the political science field through internships.
Our graduate programs equips students with the skills and experience necessary to navigate a higher-level, competitive career market. Designed to support pre-service and in-service students, our programs provide the opportunity to those in any stage of life to meet their professional goals.
Our graduate programs give pre-service students the chance to experience careers in their field through internships. Many of our majors have enjoyed great success during their time working with government agencies at the federal, state, or local level, with nonprofit organizations, and even the Department of State (DOS).
