Fulbright Scholar Program to Uruguay

Reflecting a distinct interest in furthering development in agriculture and environmental sciences, the Fulbright Scholar Program to Uruguay has partnered with the country’s National Institute for Agricultural Research (Spanish acronym INIA) to offer their Agriculture award (#6523) for U.S. faculty and researchers. Grantees will advise on ongoing and future research, deliver seminars or short courses to local researchers and assist in cooperative research projects in all areas related to agriculture. In last year's competition, the program was ultimately able to fund numerous additional finalists for the award, reflecting a vested interest from Fulbright Uruguay and INIA.

Uruguay also offers an All Disciplines award (#6524) , providing even more flexibility in potential host institutions and grant activities. For both awards, a Flex (serial) grant structure is available to allow multiple short-term visits across two years. The Fulbright Scholar Program website has a wealth of information, including webinars and application guidelines.

The deadline for the 2016-17 Fulbright U.S. Scholar competition is August 3, 2015. More information can be found on:
