NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Information Session

The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) offers three years of financial support to graduate students in STEM and most social sciences. K-State students have won it multiple times, and the Office of Scholar Development and Undergraduate Research (SDUR) would like to support more students in applying. Encourage juniors and seniors who plan to go into a full-time, research-based master’s or Ph.D. program in fall 2026 or 2027 to attend. Faculty and staff are also welcome.

Undergraduate commencement participants, please:

  • Wear your purple regalia.
  • Arrive by 7:30 a.m. to line up with your department.
  • Park in the west lot.
  • Graduates enter through southwest doors. Guests enter through northwest doors.
  • Bring your Stage Pass!
  • Place tassels on the right and pin honor cords on the left shoulder.
  • Do not bring personal items that you can’t wear under your gown, including purses, cameras, etc.
  • Wear comfortable shoes; you’ll be standing a long time and using stairs.
  • Watch your e-mail for updates from the university and college, including when and where to pick up your Stage Pass.

  • May 8 – Last Day of Classes (Grade rosters created at 5 p.m. in KSIS)

  • May 12 – Deadline to Return I-NR Grades
  • May 15-16 – Manhattan Commencement ceremonies
  • May 18 – First Day of May Intersession (Late Enrollment Fee Assessed)
  • May 20 – Spring 2026 Grades available in KSIS
  • May 25 – Memorial Day: Campus Closed
  • May 26 – First day of Summer Classes
  • May 29 – Last day for transfer work to be received for Spring 2026 graduates
  • Aug. 24 – First day of Fall 2026 Classes
