People with Purpose: Morgan Greene
Driven by collaboration and mentorship, Morgan Greene builds communications strategies that support both student success and professional growth.

The right message can be the difference between feeling lost and finding support.
As a communications and marketing specialist for the Division of Academic Success and Student Affairs, Morgan Greene crafts messaging to help students navigate resources and community offerings — finding her purpose in meeting students where they are and connecting them to what they need to succeed.
Q: What drives you to support students?
Greene: I love working with students. Throughout my career, I've had my fair share of poor supervisors or toxic workplaces. As a supervisor myself, I really want to model what a healthy workplace can look like. This can look like discussing expectations early and often, clarifying what accountability means, respecting others' time and capacity or investing in building open and honest communication pathways. Ultimately, my hope is to provide students with skills they can carry forward in their careers and other aspects of their lives.
Q: What is your leadership style? How does that contribute to your success in your role?
Greene: The leaders that I look up to most are those who empower and uplift those around them, which is the type of leader I aspire to be. I think this is most relevant when I'm supporting the students that I supervise. I really work hard to make their on-campus job a rewarding experience and an opportunity for growth by facilitating professional development, working with them to develop career-relevant skills and building relationships in which they feel comfortable reaching out for support and guidance. Equally important, I also recognize that they're students first and try to model a healthy work-life balance so that, as they move forward in their degree or career, they have the skills to prevent burnout and build resilience.
“In communications and marketing, making connections is a key part of creating effective, authentic and engaging materials.”

Q: What is your favorite way to serve your community?
Greene: I genuinely enjoy making connections with other people – colleagues, students, other partners—you name it. In communications and marketing, making connections is a key part of creating effective, authentic and engaging materials. I love that I get to be so collaborative in my role and build relationships with others to reach a common goal. Shout out to the colleagues who make work more fun!
Q: Besides a degree, what is one thing every K-State student should take away from their time on campus?
Greene: K-State offers many chances to develop personally and professionally. Getting involved on campus, whether through student organizations, on-campus employment or taking advantage of campus events, creates a much more fulfilling experience. It makes university more fun, allows you to meet others or explore your passions and invest in the parts of yourself that aren't academic. Taking the time to prioritize your whole self influences your academic success, and later, your career success!
Q: What is one moment that's made you proud to be a part of the K-State community?
Greene: One of my student employees, Ana, was a top-five finalist for the 2026 Kyle Pelton Student Employee of the Year award. She is incredibly deserving of the award: she's creative, hardworking, always up for a challenge and is incredibly professional. I'm so glad to see her be recognized and feel proud that K-State takes the time to celebrate students like Ana, who really are a crucial part of how we're able to accomplish so much on campus.
Q: What challenges do you aim to solve through your work?
Greene: Students — current and prospective — are overcommunicated to, and there is not always alignment in the information they receive, or when they receive it. One of the most central components of my role is building strategies and partnerships across the university to create more cohesive communication plans. It might sound simple, but this is one piece of the puzzle in ensuring that all students get the information they need to succeed, when they need to know it.
