Step up and serve K-State: Run for Student Governing Association

A letter from Student Body President Brady Kappelmann

Dear K-State students,

In case you have not heard yet, Student Governing Association, or SGA, elections are coming up soon on Feb. 24-25. SGA serves as the official voice of students at K-State, advocating for issues important to students, allocating more than $15 million in student fees and writing legislation that can shape the student experience for generations.

My name is Brady Kappelmann, and I currently serve as your student body president — but not for much longer. Each year, K-State students have the opportunity to file for Student Senate and for student body president and vice president, and I am reaching out to encourage you to consider serving your fellow Wildcats in these roles.

The deadline to file for Student Senate is quickly approaching on Feb. 17.

Let’s be real, though: I know many of you won't be interested in being involved in SGA while at K-State, and that is ok! If that is you, I encourage you to vote on Feb. 24-25 to make your voice heard on who you want to represent our campus.

There are also so many incredible organizations on this campus that you can be involved in and help serve. Service to others, I believe, is one of the most important things we can do, and I hope you will take the leap to get involved!

If you have any questions or want to learn more, please reach out to me at bradykappelmann@k-state.edu or Gracie Jo Stanton, Elections Commissioner, at graciejo@k-state.edu and visit our SGA Website.

Go ‘Cats!

Brady Kappelmann
78th K-State Student Body President
