Parking permit and policy updates effective July 1

Tuesday, June 24, 2025

Starting July 1, several new rules and updated policies regarding parking on the Manhattan campus will take effect.

The daily parking permit for the Kansas State University Parking Garage will no longer be available. You can still purchase a weekly or monthly permit to park in the garage.

If you receive a citation for improper parking or unregistered vehicles, the fine for these violations will now be progressive. This means the citation cost will increase with each subsequent violation within a specific time frame. This change aims to deter repeat offenders while preventing unfair penalties for others.

Motorcycle riders can now attach their annual permit directly to their motorcycle without purchasing a separate one. However, if you have both a vehicle and a motorcycle on campus simultaneously, or if the motorcycle is your only vehicle, you must have a motorcycle permit. A permit is also required if your motorcycle has no valid physical license plate.

Students with a Residence Hall permit can now park in the “J” parking stalls at the Jardine Apartments, except on game days.

Please note that the appeal policy has been updated if you would like to appeal a parking citation. You can view the revised policy on the Tickets and Enforcement webpage. To learn more about parking on campus, view the Parking Services website.

Reminder, parking permits expire on July 31. Faculty and staff will receive a renewal email notice in July. You can renew your parking permits online through the Parking Services permit portal.
