Director's Notes

In 2016, K-State's Writers' Room was tasked with creating a Holiday Senior Showcase as a one-night only performance for the theatre department. The plan was to create scenes informed by various holiday songs. The result proved a hilarious adult evening of SNL type comedy sketches written by six of the members and performed by ten seniors. When the Kansas Theatre Works podcast season was being planned, Dr. Shannon Skelton suggested revisiting Ho Ho No! as a possible selection. After reconnecting with the writers and slightly reworking the pieces for the podcast format, this version of the material was born. Writer Blake Cordell created one new piece based on "I'll be Home for Christmas" focused on a world where no one can go home and gatherings occur on Zoom. Light the fire, wear your ugliest Christmas sweater and sip your eggnog, mulled wine, spiced cider or hot cocoa while you laugh along with us for this presentation of Ho Ho No!
