Areas of Emphasis Courses
The Food Safety and Biosecurity emphasis prepares graduates to recognize, evaluate, and control food-borne agents and toxins. Additional courses emphasize the multidisciplinary nature of food biosecurity and defense research, education and training to the vitality of our community.
The Infectious Diseases/Zoonoses emphasis prepares graduates to be leaders for zoonoses protection programs, investigation of new and emerging infectious diseases, strengthening the public’s ability to respond to bioterrorism and biosecurity emergencies, and coordinating rapid response activities among government, agriculture industries, non-profit organizations and academia.
