Responsibilities
I am responsible for coordinating appropriate academic support services for McNair Scholars. This includes hiring and supervising tutors, as well as providing writing instruction to help students improve their ability to write with clear purpose and focus. In addition, I help scholars develop writing skills related to audience, organization, genre, style, and editing. I also assist with the development and facilitation of graduate preparation curriculum to student participants, as well as with program promotion, recruitment, and selection of participants.
Research interests Selected publications Storms, Jefferson. “‘An Antydote fer the Brute’: Apocalyptic Imagination in Farmer Hiram on the World’s War.” MidAmerica: The Yearbook of the Society for the Study of Midwestern Literature no. 51, 30 December 2024, pp. 27-41. “The Prince of Egypt: The Exodus Story in (Re)Translation,”: https://englishkstate.org/2020/12/08/the-prince-of-egypt-the-exodus-story-in-re-translation/ When I'm not working, you can find me reading, running or having a coffee at one of our fine local spots. If you want to strike up a conversation, I'm happy to talk about what's in my "next-to-read" stack of books, local issues that need fixing, and/or historical European martial arts (HEMA).
