I am passionate about the study and practice of leadership. I love engaging students about their leadership thoughts, experiences, and hopes. I strive to empower young leaders by creating inspiring learning contexts that enable students to thrive.

Professional expertise

Before coming to K-State, I spent more than 20 years working in public service and the private sector. I spent 16 years as an FBI leader serving in different offices across the U.S. and abroad. I have also served as the General Manager of a small business in Colorado and a Regional Leader for the U.S. Peace Corps in Panama. My areas of expertise include:

- Law enforcement, the Intelligence Community, and foreign affairs
- Crisis management
- Leadership development and instruction
