Student Health Privilege Fees
Historically, it has been the philosophy of the students and the university to share the bulk of the cost to provide healthcare to the student population through the student privilege fee. This allows the University and the Health Center to keep the cost of care affordable to ill and injured students. As a result of this approach, a significant number of students consider Lafene Health Center as their primary healthcare point of contact.
The Student Health Privilege Fee gives all K-State students access to the Lafene Health Center services. All office visits and consultations are paid for by the privilege fees. Additional services, such as laboratory work and x-rays, will be charged separately. The majority of the high-quality services we offer, however, are much less expensive than can be found in the private sector.
