Weekly global religious, spiritual and nonreligious observance information

The President's Committee on Religion, Spirituality and Nonreligious Diversity presents the global observance information for Jan. 29-Feb. 4.

Imbolc — Thursday, Feb. 1. Tradition: Wicca/Paganism. The first fertility festival, celebrating the approach of spring and the growth of light in the darkness.

The Feast of the Presentation, also called the Meeting of the Lord in the Temple, the Purification of the Virgin, or Candlemas — Friday, Feb 2. Tradition: Christianity-Orthodox, Christianity-Protestant, Christianity-Roman Catholic. Commemoration of the presentation of Jesus in the Temple at Jerusalem and his meeting by the Elder Simeon and the Prophetess Anna. 

The President's Committee on Religious, Spiritual and Nonreligious Diversity welcomes those of all global religious, spiritual and nonreligious commitments.
