National search resumes for vice president for communications and marketing

Submitted by Office of the President

A search committee appointed by Marshall Stewart, senior vice president for executive affairs, university engagement and partnerships, and chief of staff, has resumed the national search for the vice president for communications and marketing at Kansas State University. The university has engaged with the services of WittKieffer, an executive search firm, to support the search committee with the process.

The vice president for communications and marketing serves as the chief communications officer for K-State, providing senior leadership for university branding and marketing, communications and public relations that advance the university's core values and reflect its identity. This position leads and manages the Division of Communications and Marketing, which includes several units: news and communications services, marketing services, design services, photo services, video and engineering services and web services. In this role, the vice president for communications and marketing functions as a visionary strategist, implementer and manager. The vice president reports to the senior vice president for executive affairs, university engagement and partnerships, and chief of staff.

The search is being assisted by WittKieffer consultants Melissa Fincher and Jenna Brumleve. Amy Button Renz, president and CEO of the K-State Alumni Association, and Kenny Lannou, executive associate athletics director for communications and public relations of K-State Athletics, serve as the search committee co-chairs. Inquiries, nominations and applications will be treated confidentially. For full consideration, application materials must be received by Wednesday, April 12. Applications will be reviewed as they are received and should include a cover letter and curriculum vita or resume. Application materials should be submitted using the search firm's candidate portal.

The full position description, including required qualifications, may be found on the president's website. Campus interviews will take place in mid-to-late May.
