Biology Ambassadors host STEM diversity workshop April 18

Submitted by Melitza Ramirez

Workshop Flier

Curious to know what it is like to be a minority student in STEM? Want to learn more about how to support incoming students from traditionally minoritized groups?

A panel of graduate students and young professionals will share their experiences coming into STEM fields — science, technology, engineering and math — during an in-person workshop from 5-6 p.m. Monday, April 18, in 120 Ackert Hall.

The workshop will include an introduction by Kimathi Choma, assistant dean of diversity, recruitment and retention in the College of Arts and Sciences. There will be a set of questions to ask the panelists, and there will be time at the end to ask any questions you may have.

This workshop is open to all and has been organized by students in the Biology Ambassadors, a registered departmental student organization.
