Open enrollment: Long-term care solutions

The State Employee Health Plan is offering a special open enrollment period, from March 25–April 25, for benefit-eligible employees interested in lifetime benefit term group life insurance with long-term care.

Lifetime benefit term insurance, underwritten by Chubb, offers permanent term life insurance protection with the ability for members to access 4% of the policy’s face amount tax-free to help pay for long-term care costs, whether due to a physical or cognitive impairment. Premiums for the base life insurance benefit are guaranteed never to increase through age 100 and coverage is fully portable.

Those who have already enrolled do not need to re-enroll to continue coverage, and this is the only benefit offered during this special open enrollment period.
