Retirement reception for Vice President Jeff Morris on March 18

Submitted by Communications and Marketing

A retirement reception for Jeff Morris, vice president for communications and marketing, will be from 2-4 p.m. Friday, March 18, in the K-State Alumni Center Ballroom.

The reception is come-and-go and all are welcome to attend. Remarks will be given at 2:30 p.m.

Morris, a K-State alumnus, was named the university's first vice president for communications and marketing in 2010 and created the Division of Communications and Marketing by bringing the university's main marketing, web, communications and video production units under one roof. Through his leadership, K-State has increased the effect, efficiency and consistency of institutional communications and marketing initiatives by enhancing and growing the university's national branding efforts; implementing a new content management system and web design; creating tools and templates to support branding efforts, including the university's wordmarks; launched K-State Today, the daily e-newsletter for internal communications; and strengthened safety and crisis communications on all K-State campuses with the addition of the K-State Alerts system.

For Morris' efforts, the university has been recognized by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education with more than 125 awards during his tenure, including three international Circle of Excellence awards, for outstanding work in all forms of communication. He also is the recipient of the 2013 Wildcat Pride Award, which recognizes K-State faculty or staff who have been instrumental in advancing the mission of the K-State Alumni Association through the support of its programs.

If unable to attend, cards may be sent to Morris in care of DCM, 128 Dole Hall, 1525 Mid-Campus North, Manhattan, KS 66506.

Join the Division of Communications and Marketing and K-State community on March 18 in wishing Morris well on his retirement.
