Register for the K-State Business Innovation Challenge

Submitted by Haley Ahlers

Registration is now open for all junior- and senior-level students from across campus for the Center for Principled Business's annual Innovation Challenge that will take place this spring.

The goal of the K-State Innovation Challenge is to encourage students to think innovatively about solutions to real-world problems. During the challenge, student teams will develop or improve an innovative product, service, technology, or process to address a problem or challenge they identify in the K-State and/or Manhattan communities. Each team will have four weeks to develop a written report, summarizing the problem addressed and describing the team's proposed solution and how it could be implemented. Based on the written reports, the top seven teams will be selected to participate in the live finals round of the competition to present their plan to a panel of judges comprised of business executives.

This competition is designed to foster creativity, innovation and teamwork among students. The challenge is a great opportunity to build analytical, decision-making and communication skills, which will be applicable in students’ future careers. Participants will have a chance to win part of the $10,000 in scholarship prizes that will be awarded to top competitors. Teams can be made up of three to four students; students can learn more and register their team online.

The registration deadline is 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20. Event finals will be held on Thursday, April 21.
