Submitted by David Pickering

David Pickering, Professor of Music

David Pickering, professor of music, announces the release of his third book, "Harold and Catharine," a biography of husband and wife duo Harold Gleason and Catharine Crozier, two of the most famous organists in the 20th-century American organ scene.

Gleason, founder of the organ department at the University of Rochester's prestigious Eastman School of Music, was a groundbreaking organ pedagogue with his publication of "Method of Organ Playing" in 1937 which was published in eight subsequent editions. Catharine, a former student of Gleason's, went on to become one of the most famous organ recitalists in America, performing to wide and critical acclaim.

The book is published by the Leupold Foundation. View more information about the book
