Submitted by Blakely Bunning

Modern dance company 10 Hairy Legs will be in residence at Kansas State University Feb. 6-7 to provide master classes and set a piece of choreography with K-State Dance Program students for "SpringDance 2020," which will take place at 7:30 p.m. April 3-4 at McCain Auditorium.

10 Hairy Legs, a male repertory company, provides a lens to experience the broad spectrum of dance. Widely acclaimed for its aggressive commissioning of new works and curation of master works, 10 Hairy Legs has served more than 85,000 patrons, students, artists and educators since its founding in 2012, nationally and internationally. 10 Hairy Legs engage participants' creativity and address important life skills such as discipline, collaboration and critical thinking.

During the residency, 10 Hairy Legs will offer three master classes in modern dance for all K-State students on Thursday, Feb. 6. They will teach a beginner class from 8:05-9:20 a.m. in 26 Nichols Hall, an intermediate class from 9:30-10:45 a.m. in 26 Nichols Hall and an intermediate/advanced from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in 8 Nichols Hall. Space is limited and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact Kate Digby, associate director of the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, at kdigby@k-state.edu to reserve a spot. Please note that if you are not present at the start of the class time, your spot will be given to a student on the wait list.
