It's not too late to get your flu vaccine

Submitted by Shawn Funk

Whether you have caught the flu yet this season might depend on where you live.

Flu levels are already climbing throughout the south, particularly in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina, as well as Puerto Rico, according to the latest statistics from the U. S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. As for the rest of the country, things are relatively quiet — so far.

Regardless of what region of the country you reside in, vaccination is still a good idea.

The walk-in flu vaccine clinic at Lafene Health Center for students and faculty/staff is open from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. No appointment is necessary.
