On-campus sections for online computer science certificate offered in spring 2020

Submitted by Wynne Reichart

K-State students may now enroll in spring 2020 on-campus sections of the online computer science undergraduate certificate.

Any students studying on campus will be able to enroll in these courses at the on-campus tuition rate, which eliminates the online fees. Off-campus students will still have access to the online sections. The on-campus sections are offered as recorded video lectures that an enrolled student can access through Canvas.

Enrollment is now open for the first two courses of the certificate, CC 210 — Fundamental Computer Programming Concepts, and CC 310 — Data Structures and Algorithms I, which will both be offered as on-campus and online sections in spring 2020. The certificate requires four courses — a total of 14 credit hours — and is taught by computer science faculty.

Students who have taken CIS 200 or CIS 209 may be able to enroll directly in CC 310. Students who are graduating soon can take both courses concurrently. Contact the computer science department at csoffice@k-state.edu for more information and to explore your options.

The computer science department also is offering a sample course of CC 210, to any K-State students, faculty, or staff with a valid K-State eID. Fill out a brief questionnaire to get started.
