Webinars offered to advance first-generation student success

Submitted by Rebeca Paz

In collaboration with NASPA's Center for First-generation Student Success, the Office of First-generation Students will host two professional development webinars in the fall semester.

The first workshop, "A Collaborative Approach: Creating cross-divisional partnerships for first-gen success," presented by Wichita State University, will take place from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, in 247 Leadership Studies Building. For those who are able to stay until 1:30 p.m., a debrief session will follow the webinar. RSVP for the webinar online.

The second webinar, "Finding the Right Connections for First-generation Students with Impostor Syndrome" presented by Thomas Dickson, assistant vice president for undergraduate education at UC Riverside, will take place from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, in the CIS conference room in 236 Nichols Hall.

There is no cost to attend and we look forward to seeing you.
