Reminder: K-State Association for Women in Mathematics to host LaTeX workshop Saturday, Feb. 16

Submitted by Keely Grossnickle

The K-State Association for Women in Mathematics will host a workshop at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, in 144 Cardwell Hall. The workshop will be an introduction to LaTeX, which is a type-setting program used in STEM fields.

Some of the advantages of LaTeX:

  1. Generates nice PDFs.
  2. Makes nice equations, tables and graphics.
  3. Allows for greater control over the placement of tables and graphics, as well as margins and the overall format of a PDF.
  4. Easy to access online through an open source website Overleaf.
  5. Useful for creating exams, homework, articles/papers, presentations, etc.

You can bring your own laptop or use one of the computers in the room. There is no registration, just show up.

Questions may be directed to Keely Grossnickle at kgrossni@k-state.edu or Lauren White at laurenmwhite@k-state.edu.
