Nontraditional student scholarships for women, deadline April 2

Submitted by Tresa Landis

Applications are now being accepted for American Association of University Women Manhattan Branch scholarships for nontraditional undergraduate or graduate women attending Kansas State University during the 2018-2019 academic year.

Applicants must be returning to school after at least a three-year lapse in education and have at least two complete semesters of credit remaining before graduation. Applicants may have already entered or returned to college after this time lapse. Candidates must be full-time graduate or undergraduate students as defined by Kansas State University. Students taking courses solely through distance education do not qualify.

For the 2018-2019 academic year, up to three incentive scholarships of $1,000 each in addition to one $1,500 award are available.

The application must be postmarked by April 2. Applications are available through the following links:

The Manhattan Branch of the American Association of University Women was organized in 1920 and is one of the 1,000 branches nationwide. Today, the association has more than 170,000 members and is a premier organization for providing educational funding for women and girls.

When the Manhattan Branch was formed, it made a financial commitment to develop scholarship funds for women at Kansas State University. Visit the Manhattan Branch website or email manhattanksaauw@gmail.com to learn more about national fellowships and grants, branch monthly meetings and programs and membership benefits. Membership is open to anyone holding an associate, equivalent, or higher degree. E-student affiliation for all full-time K-State undergraduate students is free. Membership can be obtained by completing an online application.
