| Acad Level | (All) Classification of students based on the number of units completed toward their degree. 0-29 units = Freshman, 30-59 units = Sophmore, 60-89 units = Junior, 90+ units = Senior. |
| Academic Advisor | (All) Person from the Dean's office assigned to assist students in that college in planning their academic career at K-State. |
| Academic Career | (All) A Grouping of all academic work undertaken by a student grouped into a single statistical record. KSU uses Undergraduate, Graduate and Veterinary Medicine careers. |
| Academic Group | (All) The College associated with a particular Program, Course, or other Academic element. |
| Academic Institution | (All) Kansas State University, indicated as KSUNV . |
| Academic Level | (All) Classification of students based on the number of units completed toward their degree. 0-29 units = Freshman, 30-59 units = Sophmore, 60-89 units = Junior, 90+ units = Senior. |
| Academic Organization |
(All) An entity that is part of the administrative structure within K-State. At the lowest level, an academic organization might be an academic department. At the highest level, an academic organization can represent all of K-State. (Curriculum Management) The Academic Organization code assigned to the Subject Area. |
| Academic Plan | (All) A course of study leading to a formal award given by an institution, such as a degree, diploma or certificate. For example, Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. |
| Academic Program | (All) The academic entity to which the student applies and which oversees the degree progress of a particular Academic Plan. The Program is controlled by each College and is made up of a 4 or 5 character code. For example, ASUDG = College of Arts and Sciences (AS), Undergraduate (U), Degree-Seeking (DG) plans. | Academic Subplan | (All) The further specialization os an academic plan or major. Subplans may include concentrations, specializations. |
| Active | (All) Indicates whether the parameter value is active (to be used in processing) or inactive (to be ignored in processing). |
| Address 1 - ??? | (All) First line of a person's address. |
| Address 2 - ??? | (All) Second line of a person's address. |
| Address 3 - ??? | (All) Third line of a person's address. |
| Address type | (All) The possible addresses stored for a person. Address Types are: Home (local), Billing, Mailing, Permanent, Shipping, and Degree/Diploma. |
| Admit Type | (All) Designation used to distinguish first-year applications from transfer applications. |
| Campus | (All) "KSU". The Campus in KSIS is used to designate entities that use a single transcript, course catalog, and other academic differences. The Salina and Continuing Education classes are designated as Locations in KSIS. |
| Campus ID | (All) K-State issued student identifier. Also called the Wildcat ID (WID). |
| Career | (All) A Grouping of all academic work undertaken by a student grouped into a single statistical record. |

| Class | (All) An individual occurrence of a course during a given academic term. |
| Country - ??? | (All) Country portion of the address for a person or entity. |

| Course | (All) Academic instruction offered as part of the K-State curriculum. |
| Date of Birth - ??? | (All) Birth Date for a person. |
| Effective Date | (All) The date on which the settings become effective. |
| Empl ID | (All) Identifier within KSIS. Used to designate employee numbers. Coincides with the HRIS Empl ID. |
| Enrollment Appointment | (Records and Enrollment) Timeframe in which a student can enroll in classes. This date determines the earliest date a student may enroll for a subsequent term. |
| Ethnic Group | (All) Reported ethnic group for a person. |
| First Name - ??? | (Campus Community) Person s first name. |
| Gender | (All) Indication of whether a person is male or female, if provided. |
| ID | (All) KSIS unique system identifier. |
| Last Name - ??? | (Campus Community) Person's last name. |
| Matriculation | (All) The point at which a student's record becomes the property of the Registrar's Office, having been the domain of the Office of Admissions. |
| Middle Name - ??? | (Campus Community) Person s middle name. |
| National ID | (All) National identification number issued by the US government. Social Security Number (SSN). NOTE: unknown SSNs are recorded as 999-99-9999. |
| Postal | (All) Postal Code portion of the address for a person or entity. |
| Prefix | (All) Person s name prefix. |
| Search/Match | (All) A feature that enables you to search for and identify duplicate records in the database. |
| Self Service | (All) KSIS functionality broken down into specific roles. The Self Service screens are designed to hold the bulk of the functionality that a student or faculty member will need when using KSIS. |
| Service Indicator | (All) Service Indicators are used in KSIS to designate special attention is needed for a particular student. Service Indicators can be positive (honors, special recognition) or negative (holds, probation). |
| State - ??? | (All) State portion of the address for a person or entity. |
| Student Group | (All) A grouping of students with similar characteristics. Student Groups can be used for identification or to add additional functionality to the system. |
| Term | (All) Semester in which classes are offered. Terms are identified by a four-digit number where the first digit represents the century, the second and third digits represent the year, and the final digit represents the semester (2 for Spring, 4 for Summer, 5 for Fall). I.e. Spring 2008 = 2082, Fall 2007 = 2075. |
| Test Date | (Student Admissions) Date external standardized test was taken. |
| Test ID | (Student Admissions) Identified indicating the type of standardized test score being recorded. |
| Type (Email) | (All) Email usage type assigned to this email address. |
| Type (Phone) | (All) Phone usage type assigned to this phone number. |
| Universal Navigation Header | (All) Navigation bar at the top right corner of each page in KSIS. In addition to providing access to the standard navigation buttons (like Home, Favorites, and signoff) the universal navigation header can also display a welcome message for each user. |
| Unit | (All) Credit hours assigned to a course. The Units are accumulated as credit toward graduation, in figuring Grade Point Average, enrollment eligibility, academic level, etc. |
