FAQs - Enrollment Requirements for Students

  1. How are enrollment requirements be enforced?

All course and class requirements are enforced. Some prerequisites may automatically block students from enrolling in a class if the prerequisite is not met. Others will be manually monitored. Students and faculty will need to check in both KSIS and the University catalog to determine course prerequisites.

  2. I am currently taking a course that is a prerequisite for a course that I am enrolling in for the next term (semester); will the current enrolled course be recognized as a prerequisite? What happens if I fail the current course?

Current enrollments are considered as having been completed satisfactorily when you enroll for a subsequent term, so yes, you will be able to enroll in the next course. However, if you fail the current term prerequisite course, the course will be dropped from your future schedule.

  3. I have met the prerequisites for the class that I want to enroll in according to the university catalog, but I am still not allowed to enroll in the class in KSIS, what do I do?

Contact the instructor for the class. The instructor may then grant permission to override the prerequisites by providing this information to their departmental office. Once the permission has been granted in KSIS, you will be able to add the class to your schedule.

  4. I do not exactly meet the prerequisites for a course that I want to enroll in but I am sure I will be successful in the course, what do I do?

Contact the instructor for the class. The instructor may then grant permission to override the prerequisites by providing this information to their departmental office. Once the permission has been granted in KSIS, you will be able to add the class to your schedule.
