EXCITE Shadow Days

Shadow Days

Registration is now closed for the Fall!
Fall 2019 Shadow Days: October 2, October 16 & November 6, 2019.

Save the Date AND be on the look out for new majors coming this spring!

Spring 2020 Shadow Days - February 12, February 26, March 25 and April 1, 2020.

High school students are invited to come experience a day in the life of a K-State student! Each participant will be paired with a current K-State student who shares similar interests in science, technology, engineering, or math. Together they will attend class, tour campus, share lunch, and discuss what it's like to be in a STEM major at K-State.

What is the Goal?

The mission of EXCITE Shadow Days is to increase girls' interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers.

Who Should Attend?

This event is intended for students currently in high school (grades 9-12) with an interest in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) related careers.

What Will We Do?

You will join a current college student majoring in a field you are interested in as she goes about her normal day at K-State and experience “a day in the life” firsthand. Lunch, a drawstring bag, and pencil are included in your registration fee.

When & Where?

We will start the day in the K-State Student Union at 9am. You will be picked up by your host shortly thereafter and spend the majority of your time either in class or touring campus. The day will end around 3pm back in the Union.

How Do I Sign Up?

Individuals may mail in their registration and consent forms along with payment to EXCITE! at least two weeks before their desired date. Space is limited.

Groups of 4 or more are encouraged to contact the EXCITE! Program Coordinator (Morgan Greene, kawse@ksu.edu) at least 3 weeks in advance to ensure space is available.
