Printing on campus

Printing stations have been adjusted for COVID-19 safety protocols. Color printing is available on the 1st and 2nd floor of Hale Library and Weigel Library in Regnier Hall in the Pierce Information Commons just outside of room 0081. Weigel Library also supports 11"x17" paper printing. Black and white printing is available on the 1st and ground floors of the K-State Student Union and in the Justin Hall lobby. Black and white and multifunction printers are available on the 1st and 2nd floors of Hale Library.  A monochrome multifunction printer is available in the Cardwell Math/Physics Library corridor (Cardwell 105C). 

  • Black-and-white printing goes into one queue and can be retrieved at any printer: 1st and 2nd floor in Hale Library, 1st and ground floor in the K-State Student Union, the Justin Hall lobby, and the Cardwell Math/Physics Library corridor (Cardwell 105C).
  • Color printing is available on the 1st and 2nd floor of Hale Library and at Weigel Library in Regnier Hall, outside of room 0081.
  • 11"x17" paper printing is available at Weigel Library in Regnier Hall, outside of room 0081.

Printing prices

Your Wildcat Card can be used for pay-for-printing.

Limited, free laser printing
  • For all K-State students, faculty, & staff.
    K-State eID and password required.
  • $10/person - fall & spring semesters.
  • $5/person - summer semester.
  • Unused semester balances
    do not carry forward.
8.5" x 11" printing

B&W single-sided: 10¢
B&W double-sided: 18¢
Color single-sided: 35¢
Color double-sided: 70¢

11" x 17" printing

B&W single-sided: 20¢
B&W double-sided: 40¢
Color single-sided: 70¢

Default printer settings

  • The university computing labs have double-sided (duplex) printing.
  • The Media Center has single-sided printing.
Change print options

Follow the instructions below to switch between duplex and single-sided printing.

Microsoft Office 2010

Follow these steps to switch between duplex and single-sided printing when using Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.) in the university computing labs.

  1. On the File menu, click Print

  2. Under Settings, select one of the following:
    • Print One Sided for single-sided printing.
    • Print on Both Sides for duplex printing.

      Under Settings, select Print One Sided or Print on Both Sides.
  3. Click Print.

Internet Explorer

Follow these steps to switch between duplex and single-sided printing when using the Internet Explorer web browser in the university computing labs.

  1. On the File menu, click Print.
  2. Click Preferences.

  4. Select the Factory Defaults option for single-sided printing.

Mozilla Firefox

Follow these steps to switch between duplex and single-sided printing when using the Mozilla Firefox web browser in the university computing labs.

  1. On the File menu, click Print.
  2. Click Properties.
  3. Click the Printing Shortcuts tab.

  4. Select the Factory Defaults option for single-sided printing.

Google Chrome

Follow these steps to switch between duplex and single-sided printing when using the Google Chrome web browser in the university computing labs.

  1. On the File menu, click Print.
  2. Do one of the following and then click Print:
    • Uncheck the Two-sided option for single-sided printing.
    • Check the Two-sided option for duplex-printing.

Wireless printing from a lab computer or personal laptop

In order to print wirelessly, users must be on campus and connected to the KSU Wireless or KSU Housing network. Wireless printing can be done from anywhere on campus to PaperCut print stations in several locations:

  • Hale Library, 1st floor
  • Justin Hall Lobby
  • Weigel Library (Regnier Hall, room 0081)
  • Math/Physics Library (Cardwell Hall, room 105)

Retrieve your printout from a PaperCut print station
  1. Sign in with your K-State eID and password or swipe your Wildcat ID card.
  2. Select your print job(s).
  3. Click Print and retrieve your printout.
  4. Click Logout.
