IT Hiring Initiative
At Kansas State University, we understand the importance of a strong, secure and well-supported IT infrastructure in today’s global society. And as we align our people and resources to support our visionary Next-Gen K-State strategic plan, we are embarking on a transformative initiative that grows and bolsters our IT operations, enhancing how we strategically manage, support and align the university’s IT infrastructure across the institution.
K-State invites applications for multiple Information Technology director positions, creating a distributed leadership structure that will collaboratively develop and implement strategic IT plans for the university’s colleges and major units in alignment with the university's next-generation land-grant goals. These positions, which also include supervisory leadership duties within their respective college or major unit, will assist in:
- Improving coordination and collaboration through a unified reporting structure.
- Improving our ability to offer consistent technical experiences for our workforce, instructional spaces and research areas.
- Implementing consistent training for our IT workforce to meet technical standards and best practices.
- Enhancing cybersecurity practices and risk management through strategic oversight.
IT Director Searches
K-State is looking for leaders to join us in this bold initiative and help drive our IT transformation forward. This hiring initiative includes two distinct searches, filling 9 positions in total. Applicants are invited to apply to one or both of the searches below.
About the College and Major Unit IT Director Cluster Hire
K-State is using a cluster hire approach to fill eight of its IT director-level positions on the Manhattan campus. This process streamlines the application experience across these positions, allowing applicants to complete one application to be considered for any of the eight positions listed below. Candidates will be hired at the Director I, II or II level and compensation will be commensurate with position level and candidate qualifications.
All positions will report to directly to the Division of Information Technology but will be embedded within their respective college or major unit. Read more about the positions and the college and unit priorities below.
