Enterprise Data Warehouse

Mission:

Office of Data, Assessment and Institutional Research (DAIR)’s Enterprise Data Warehouse team strives to cultivate a deep understanding of institutional knowledge, by transforming data into intelligence to facilitate data-informed decision-making at all levels of the university.

What we do:

The Enterprise Data Warehouse Team serves a critical institutional data role at Kansas State University, leading the development, management and maintenance of the university data warehouses and university data governance (level 2). The team works closely with the DAIR BI & Analytics team, DAIR Assessment team, University business areas, and DIT teams to assess institutional data needs and thereby model and deliver data as a product, facilitating self-service analytics to democratize data.

Create a roadmap for delivering data as a product.

Partner with data consumers to collect business requirements and turn them into curated datasets, ready for consumption.

Facilitate automation of data submissions for IPEDS and various external surveys.

Collaborate and provide support to DAIR teams and provide consumption ready datasets, thereby reducing the overhead of combining and unifying data sets on an ad hoc basis.

Store and model recurring survey data for longitudinal analysis.

Collaborate with data producers and consumers to set data quality standards.

Institute user-friendly naming conventions and definitions.
