SQL Server Data Marts
The SQL Server data marts have been instrumental in meeting the university's data requirements for several years. Comprising the following components:
Student Data Mart
Financial Aid Data Mart
HR Data Mart
Financials Data Mart
Each data mart primarily comprises star schemas sourced from the university's primary Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems: KSIS (Kansas State University Student Information System), HRIS (Human Resources Information System), and FIS (Financial Information System). The structures within the data marts are updated nightly.
- Encompasses data from application to graduation, including student data from KSIS, Slate, and CollegeNet.
- Contains enrollment information, program/plan stack, census day reporting, degrees, and retention analysis.
- Houses financial aid disbursement information and student financial transactions.
- Includes human resource transactions and payroll information, including payroll funding.
- Incorporates budget data for reporting against payroll funding and projecting fiscal year expenditures.
- Encompasses financial transactions and hosts a financials reporting Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) cube.
