To find information about the plan
Go to UHCSR, and click “Explore Policy” under the Medical – GA/TA PLAN Policy #2026-470-3. The website will contain health plan information outlining coverage details, supplemental Dental and Vision insurance options, continuation insurance, and the complete policy brochure. Questions on specific coverage or allowances must be directed to United Healthcare at United Healthcare Student Resources Customer Service or 1-888-344-6104.
Continuation Insurance for GTA/GRA/GA Health Insurance
Students who purchased the GTA/GRA/GA health insurance through the most recent coverage period, can elect for continuing coverage for a maximum of 3 months due to loss of an eligible appointment. The insured GTA/GRA/GA must exercise this right within 60 days of termination of appointment, and the cost is paid 100% by the student. The GTA/GRA/GA has a right to choose to continue benefits so long as the Kansas Board of Regents maintains a plan with UHCSR.
This Continuation Insurance election must be made in the student’s MyUHC portal through the UHCSR Student Resources website. Please keep in mind:
- Premium is subject to change annually on August 1st.
- UHCSR and KSU will NOT send premium reminder notices. It is the student’s responsibility to enroll and make payment to UHC if they want to pursue coverage after their appointment ends.
- Once the first month of Continuation Insurance has been purchased, it is the student’s responsibility to send subsequent premium payment to UHCSR so that UHCSR receives the payment on or before the first of the month for which insurance is being purchased.
- Premiums can be paid in advance. However, UHCSR will not refund unused premium should the student terminate insurance early.
