Leadership Development

Our leadership development efforts align with building and sustaining our workforce, one of the key priorities of the Next-Gen K-State strategic plan.  Continuing to develop leadership capacities and strengths among our faculty and staff is critical to the university reaching its goals.

Leadership Development Methodology

The first phase will be to develop and launch a limited leadership development series available to all K-State employees.  This series will provide six topics for employees to develop their leadership capacity.

The second phase will be to conduct and analyze a professional development needs assessment to identify employees' and supervisors' professional development needs and priorities.

The third phase will be to focus on future programming efforts with an emphasis towards leadership development.

Limited Series

Human Resources has secured a consultant who will facilitate a leadership development series called Building Next-Gen Leadership.  An advisory group was formed to provide HR and the consultant with input on the series.  The series will focus on how each employee can lead from where they are and contribute to the university's strategic plan.

Professional Development Needs Assessment

In the fall, K-State employees will be invited to participate in the 2024 Professional Development Needs Assessment.  The results will be key for the planning and advancement of professional development opportunities, which will support Next-Gen K-State imperatives and priorities.

Leadership Development Programming

After identifying and prioritizing professional developments needs, Human Resources will design, develop and launch programming.
